Welcome to Skin Trade. The administration team would like to welcome you to the board, thank you for your registration and encourage you to read this thread in its entirety. This information includes the rules of the site which must be followed at all times. (As well as the code word)

Our main goal here at Skin Trade is to have fun, expand the horizons of our own creativity and make new friends. We want you to achieve these goals as well. The Staff

1.) REGISTRATION: You must have previously celebrated your eighteenth birthday to join this site. If you have yet to turn eighteen, please bookmark this site and come back.
2.) DISPLAY NAME=CHARACTER NAME: You may use any user name you would like but your display name (found in your profile), must be your character’s first and last name. If you do not edit this, we will do it for you.
3.) FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE RULES WILL RESULT IN ADMIN ACTION!!! Depending on the severity of the rule breaking, an administrator will issue punishment accordingly. This could range from a few days break from the site, posting ability removed or banishment.
4.) FLAMING, SLANDER AND HARASSMENT IS NOT TOLERATED! If you have an OOC problem with another member, please try and work it out in a mature fashion. If you find you cannot, please ask a staff member to mediate. For all IC issues, please remember that drama is realistic and adds flavor to threads and the general plot. Please do not take what someone’s character does personally. This includes board posts, Private Messages and the C-Box.
5.) ADVERTISEMENT OF OTHER BOARDS IS WELCOME! All we ask is that you follow the rules posted. Please see Advertisement & Affiliation Board for more information. The secret word is: BoyS oF SuMMeR
6.) PLAGARISM IS GROUNDS FOR BANISHMENT! If you are using the work of someone else, E.G. you did not write the character profile, you will be banned from the site. No questions asked. This also includes the work of Skin Trade posted on outside sites as well. If it’s not yours, don’t touch it. Simple as that.
7.) ACTIVITY: We require that the writer posts at the very least one post per week no matter which character they decide to post with as long as long as they are not leaders. In order for a leader of a group to keep their position, they most post at least one post per week with that specific character or they will be approached with questions as to why they are unable to to so. Threads that go two months without a response is automatically considered inactive and will be moved to the archives never to see the light of day again. Accounts that have gone more than two months without posting a single post are considered inactive and their bios will be moved to the inactive board for three months. If they remain there and are incomplete, they are deleted without warning. Bios that are completed are moved to the graveyard and, yes, that means they are dead. Try to keep active.
1.) THIS IS A LITERATE, ENGLISH SPEAKING SITE! What we mean is we do not accept chat speak, we expect your posts to be in English and contain proper grammar and have been checked for spelling mistakes. We also expect some effort to be made in terms of quality of post. We ask for a minimum of ten sentences in a paragraph with several paragraphs per post. However, one important thing to remember that quantity is not the same thing as quality. Posting six paragraphs of drivel, purple prose nonsense is oftentimes worse than not having posted at all.
2.) THIS SITE IS RATED PG-13! Due to the Terms of Service, please keep the content to this level. Anything more mature should be moved to IM or EMAIL.
3.) YOU ARE NOT PERFECT AND NEITHER IS YOUR CHARACTER! We DO NOT accept power playing or god-moding. Every person has faults and flaws and we expect that of your characters as well. Role-playing should be fun for everyone and god-moding is fun for no one. This includes moving other writer's characters without their permission, harming them and having them react. Power playing is where your character cannot be beat or have no weaknesses that other players cannot manipulate.
4.) DOUBLE POSTS MUST BE REMOVED! If you accidentally post twice, remove one of them. Kind of obvious.
5.) DO NOT CHANGE THE FONT SIZE!!! We have a default setting for a reason, please do not change it. Fonts in 0 or 1 will be removed without warning! We like not having to squint whenever reading a post.
6.) THERE IS A TWO MONTH TRIAL PERIOD! If you are interested in having a character of higher standing, you must adhere to the activity requirements for a total of four weeks before you are even eligible for anything than Beta-Level I and, after that, fourteen weeks. This is not something we are willing to budge on.
1.) AVATARS: The minimum/maximum size for avatars is 100 x 100 pixels! It will be edited/removed if it is not!
2.) SIGNATURES: The maximum size for signatures is 500 x 200 pixels! Signatures exceeding this size will be removed and a warning issued!
3.) ONE SIGNATURE PER ACCOUNT, PLEASE! Multiple characters can be displayed in a single signature though it is advised that each character have their own account.
4.) DO NOT HOTLINK! Upload your images to your own hosting account!
5.) CHARACTER MODELS: Are not a requirement but are a recommendation. There are no doppelgangers here unless it has been previously cleared by the writer who originally made the face claim. This means that even if the character has died IC, that face still cannot be claimed without the direct permission of the writer! However, should the character go inactive for a total of four months and the bio deleted, the face claim is up for grabs again.
6.) SIGNATURES ARE ALSO PG-13! Please keep your images tasteful! Pornographic images will be removed and a warning issued.
1.) PROFILES MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN FOUR WEEKS OF ACCOUNT APPROVAL!l You have 28 days to write and post your first profile otherwise the account is purged! Exceptions are made if you ask, contact a staff member for help or to let them know the reason for needing more time.
2.) CANON CHARACTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED! We accept ONLY original creations. Please do not submit a profile for a canon character or a copy of one or it will be immediately deleted!
3.) SECRET WORD(S)=REQUIREMENT FOR APPROVAL: The secret word(s), which is somewhere in these rules, must be included where indicated in the profile. The secret word(s) and it's position in the rules will change periodically. Submitting a sheet without it, or one with an incorrect secret word will result in your character not being approved.
4.) ACCOUNTS ARE LIMITED TO SEVEN CHARACTERS! You may create up to 14 characters provided you are an active, contributing member that can write a minimum of 3 paragraphs in a single post. We would prefer these 14 characters have their own accounts but they can be spread among two accounts. That, however, is your prerogative.
5.) NPC: NPCs (non-played characters) are allowed on a short term, as needed basis. If your NPC is going to take an active role, please convert them into a PC (played character) by yourself or make them available for adoption by another member unless otherwise approved by an admin.
6.) UPON APPROVAL, ADD YOUR CHARACTERS TO THESE LISTS! [Character Model Registry], [Character Directory], [Employment Directory]
